Anybody can come and learn subject to the nominal charges charged by the organizing volunteer for renting premises and overheads and his efforts. Please fill this form to enable us to help you better...
Anybody can come and teach if the organizing volunteer or the registered audience so chooses. Our ideal is the teaching should be free but in minor cases the organizing volunteer may choose to pay to the teacher.
Ideally you should teach for free in the following situations:
- When you want to share your knowledge with the outside world and that process sharing knowledge is your reward.
- When you feel the need to change the world for better and you feel that knowledge of a particular topic in masses will help you in your cause.
- When you are a domain expert and want to write a book. Live interaction with audience will certainly help you in better presenting the topic to your book's audience.
- When you are a domain expert and want to become a consultant. Live interaction with audience will improve knowledge, communication skill and mastery over the topic. It will also enhance your prestige.
- When you are an author you should teach at OpenClass to improve your goodwill. A book is as famous as the author.
- You are a famous technology company and want to hold training classes on your technology to promote your technology.
Anybody can organize OpenClass. You have to just rent a classroom. Get star trainers. Publicize the class. Take registrations. Thats it!!!
You can charge for the class but keep in mind that for the class to be truly an OpenClass rates should not be prohibitive. We think US$ 5 per hour should be the ideal charge for class tickets. These figures are not a rule but just figures which we feel should take care of interests of all stake holders.
You can choose any topic. The only thing to keep in mind is that topic should not be illegal or immoral.
- One Person Multiple Roles
Yes. We would be happy if one person performs more than one role. You can be an organizing volunteer and you may also teach at the same time or the vice versa. Since learning never stops all organizers and trainers would be learners too!
